Maximize Eyelash Extension Longevity: Expert Tips for Effective Cleaning

How to clean your Eyelash Extensions to make them last longer

Welcome to the future of eyelash care with Lash Tribe 2024 at Teneriffe! As a Lash Tech with top-tier training from Lash Tribe, you already recognize the crucial role of maintaining lash hygiene. If you're still exploring the best practices, this blog post and the accompanying video will enlighten you on the art of cleaning your eyelash extensions.

Why prioritize lash cleanliness, you ask?

The answer lies in longevity and health. Contrary to popular belief, untouched lashes don't equate to longer-lasting extensions. In reality, neglect leads to the accumulation of oils, residue, dirt, and grime - enemies of durable lash glue. Remember, oils and lash adhesives are like water and oil; they just don't mix. Let's dive into the essentials of eyelash extension care with Lash Tribe, where we blend the latest techniques with tried-and-true methods to ensure your lashes stay pristine and perfect!

Ignoring lash hygiene can lead to unsightly infections, as shown in our startling example of neglecting lash cleaning for three weeks.

Here’s the Lash Tribe method to keep your extensions immaculate:

  1. Gentle Makeup Removal: Use a cotton round and a gentle remover to eliminate makeup above and under the eyes. For the rest of your face, use your preferred facial cleanser, avoiding the lashes.
  2. Specialized Cleansing: Opt for a cleanser specifically formulated for Eyelash Extensions. Employ a soft brush or your fingers to gently cleanse the lash extensions in a downward motion. Avoid vigorous back-and-forth rubbing.
  3. Thorough Rinsing: Rinse off all residue with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
  4. Careful Drying: Pat your lashes dry gently with a paper towel. Avoid rubbing them.
  5. Detangling and Shaping: Use a mascara wand to brush and detangle your lashes. A cold blow-dry while brushing can help shape and dry them effectively.

Consistency is Key: Perform this routine daily, preferably at night, to remove accumulated dirt and maintain lash health.

If you don't have much money you can also mix your own Eyelash Extensions Shampoo. It's easy BUT I am telling you right now, it's not as good as Lash Shampoo that was specifically designed for this reason and you will also need to mix up a fresh batch every 2-3 days, otherwise the water will start to build up with bacteria.

Choose Wisely: When selecting a cleanser, avoid those containing Glycols, which can weaken the glue bond over time. These ingredients are suitable for your face but not for your lashes.

Educate Your Clients: As a Lash Tribe professional, it's our duty to guide our clients in proper lash care. Show them the potential consequences of neglect with vivid examples and provide them with an aftercare sheet for extra precaution.

At Lash Tribe 2024, we're dedicated to ensuring that your lash experience is both luxurious and safe. Remember, proper cleaning is not just a routine; it's the key to flaunting beautiful, lasting lash extensions.

Stay awesome and don't forget to sparkle.
